Praying For Others to Receive Salvation

Praying for Others to Receive Salvation

Many people pray for salvation of their family members. I have heard people pray for those needing salvation. Some have prayed for them to hit rock bottom to receive the Lord. They pray prayers of suffering and pain for them. They pray that the Lord will show them what they are doing wrong. These types of prayers are not according to the will of God. If we ask according to the will of God, we will clearly see that we need to bless them and ask that they will be saved and come to the full knowledge of the truth. It is God's goodness that will lead a person to repentance not his wrath. When they are being blessed salvation can begin to work in their lives, love comes in and their ears become more open to hear about the goodness of God and his plan for salvation through Jesus Christ. When this happens, God can bring revelation to them about him. Because faith in him is gift. They will know that they are blessed because their sins are forgiven and he remembers them no more. That goodness brings them to repentance and salvation.

These scriptures are wonderful to have to pray for your family and friends who need salvation in Jesus Christ.

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 1 John 5:14

This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4

Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance. Romans 2:4

Romans 5:4

…"Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.… Ephesians 2:8

The Spirit of Religion - Guilt

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus"  Romans 8:1

If we try to earn righteousness through our works, we will be led by the spirit of religion and abide in guilt.  We cannot remove the stain of sin except through Jesus Christ and what he accomplished.  It is by grace we are saved through faith (Romans 2:8).  Satan knows this.  He loves to have God's people perform to earn their righteousness.  He knows that if he can deceive us, he will hinder our walk with Christ.  The Apostle Paul mentions this several times in his epistles for us not to be deceived and to be careful of receiving another gospel.  If Satan can get us to buy into religion and works,  We will find ourselves living in guilt.  He will succeed in hindering us from successfully walking in the fullness that Christ has for us.

God desires for us to live holy lives and sin is what will hinder us from having a personal relationship with Christ.  He also tells us that when we ask for forgiveness and turn away from that sin,  he truly forgives us of our sins. We know that we are blessed because it tells us in Romans 4:7-8 "Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.  Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord never counts against them."  Receiving the forgiveness of sins is received by faith.  Without faith, we are in sin (Romans 14:23).  God fully accomplished the redemptive work when Jesus died for us on the cross.  We are forgiven of our sins when we receive Jesus into our lives and repent of our sins.

So when the enemy comes to you and speaks about your past and imposes the law on you to guilt you into performing for your righteousness you need to remind yourself of the great work of what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross.  Let us fully glorify God and his finished work by receiving his grace and mercy by faith in what he has done for us.

Today my prayer is that the Lord would impart his grace and mercy that you may truly experience the fullness of the forgiveness of your sins and that you may abide in that place of rest and assurance knowing by faith that God has fully completed in work in you.

In Need of A Blessing

"Blessed are those who transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.  Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them."  Romans 4:7-8

There are so many times we in Christ are looking for the blessing.  We look to our circumstances to see what they are.  When we put our hope in our circumstances, we are then led by the happenings.  If they are good, then we are rejoicing.  If they are bad, we can end up in disappointment, disillusionment and discouragement.  If our target is off, then we will be riding the waves of ups and downs.  Satan understands that if we are moved by the natural things of man rather than being led by the Spirit of God, we can easily be deceived.  He desires that we walk by the flesh and not by the Spirit because he knows that faith in God and what his son has done will conquer his strategies.

We are already a blessed.  How do we have assurance of this?  We are told in Romans 4:7-8 "Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, who sins are covered.  Blessed is the one who sin the Lord will never count against them."  We are blessed because we put our faith and hope in Jesus Christ who died for our sins and rose from the dead and who now sits on the right hand of God the Father.  We are blessed despite our circumstances here on earth. We have an eternal destination and life everlasting.  We have a promise of having assurance of our salvation as we put our hope and trust in him.  We know that when trials come and they will, that God will be with us through the fire and he will proof our faith much more richer than gold.  He will make known to us the glories riches in Christ Jesus.

Sometimes our mountains are big, but when we put our hope in Jesus Christ and trust in the eternal blessing of the forgiveness of our sins, then we know that we will succeed.  It may not be according to the world's standard, but it will be one that will bring everlasting glory, assurance, peace and joy.

May you experience the goodness of God today as you see his wonderful blessing in your life.  You are forgiven and the greatest debt you could of owed anyone is paid in full.  You now can stand before a most holy God and be in his presence.
